The Jonas Brothers are marking two decades in the music industry with big announcements, concerts, and cherished memories that have shaped their journey. Joe, Nick, and Kevin sat down with Billboard to share their favorite moments, challenges, and future plans while attending the first-ever JONASCON, a special event dedicated to their fans.
A Return to Their Roots
JONASCON took place at the American Dream Mall in New Jersey, a location with deep significance for the band, as it was where they performed some of their earliest shows before rising to fame. The Jonas Brothers spent the entire day at the mall, meeting fans and performing both new and classic hits.
“It feels like a full-circle moment. Twenty years of hard work, joyful experiences, and tough decisions have brought us here today,” Nick shared.
The event featured concerts, themed activities like G.I. Jonas laser tag and Jonas Pizza, and surprise guest appearances from The All-American Rejects and Big Time Rush. Cast members from Camp Rock also joined a nostalgic panel discussion about the Disney era that made the Jonas Brothers household names.
New Music and Major Announcements
During their final performance at JONASCON, the Jonas Brothers made some exciting announcements for their fans:
- Their next studio album, Greetings From Your Hometown, will be released on August 8.
- Joe Jonas will unveil his highly anticipated solo album, Music For People Who Believe in Love, on May 23.
- Their upcoming Disney+ movie, A Very Jonas Christmas, is set to premiere later this year.
- A new live album, London Live, will be released on June 13.
- The band is collaborating with ESPN for I Can’t Lose, the official anthem of Sunday Night Baseball.
Memories from 20 Years in Music
When asked about their most treasured moments, Joe recalled their early mall concerts: “We’d wake up at 4 AM for soundcheck, and mall walkers would yell at us to turn the music down!” Kevin was deeply moved by seeing the Jonas Brothers museum, where his first Takamine guitar is displayed. Meanwhile, Nick described JONASCON as one of the most special experiences of their career.
Reflecting on the start of their journey, Nick admitted, “When we first started, we had no idea what we were doing… and honestly, we still don’t! But we’ve always had people around us who believed in us and pushed us forward.”
Their Bond with Fans
The Jonas Brothers grew alongside the rise of social media, which helped them form a direct connection with their audience. Kevin noted that YouTube was their first communication platform, while Joe recalled their early prank videos inspired by Jackass.
“We didn’t like promoting ourselves the usual way, so we just did silly stuff, and people loved it. We’re still doing it!” Joe laughed.
Will There Be a Bounce Part 2?
One of the Jonas Brothers’ most talked-about tracks, Bounce, was originally written as a joke during a break on the set of Camp Rock 2 and recorded on GarageBand. Nick revealed that he once received one of his strangest paychecks for the song: “One of my funniest salaries ever was for Bounce—just 10 bucks!”
When asked if they would ever create a Bounce Part 2, Joe teased, “There’s still time… who knows what the next 20 years will bring?”
The New Tour and Their MetLife Stadium Dream
The Jonas Brothers also announced their upcoming world tour, JONAS20: LIVING THE DREAM, kicking off at MetLife Stadium in their home state of New Jersey.
“Starting at MetLife is unbelievable. We’re Jersey kids who grew up watching games from the cheap seats, and now we have our own headline show here!” Joe said.
As for international tour dates? “Absolutely! We want to celebrate these 20 years with as many fans as possible worldwide.”
With so many exciting projects ahead, one thing is clear: the Jonas Brothers aren’t just looking back on their past—they’re gearing up for even more music, surprises, and unforgettable moments in the future.
