Horan: “I Finally Saw Fans Singing These Songs”
Originally released on March 13, 2020, Heartbreak Weather was significantly impacted by the pandemic:
“The release date had been set months in advance, but it ended up coinciding with the start of the pandemic. With the tour canceled, it took years before I could finally see fans singing these songs with me. The love you’ve shown this album makes me incredibly happy,” Horan shared on social media.
Upon its initial release, Horan described the album as “almost a concept album”, narrating the journey of a relationship from multiple perspectives.
“A breakup isn’t just sadness. I wanted to capture every emotion,” he said in 2020.
Temporary Hiatus & A Promise of a New Album
As The Show Tour comes to an end, Horan has announced a short break from music but assured fans that a new album is on the way.
During his final show in Bogotá (October 9, 2024), he told the audience:
“As of tomorrow, you won’t find me anywhere! I’ll be off the grid for a while, probably recovering from last night’s drinks… But I promise you, I’ll be back with a brand-new album!”
Saying Goodbye to Liam Payne
Shortly after wrapping up his tour, Horan mourned the loss of his former One Direction bandmate, Liam Payne, who tragically passed away.
In an emotional tribute, he wrote:
“I am absolutely heartbroken over the loss of my wonderful friend, Liam. It doesn’t feel real. He had an incredible energy, a passion that was contagious. He brought light wherever he went and made those around him feel safe.”
Reflecting on their One Direction journey, Horan added:
“We lived out our wildest dreams together, and I will cherish those memories forever. The friendship we had was something rare.”
He also revealed that he had seen Payne shortly before his passing:
“I’m grateful I got to see him recently. I didn’t know that night would be our last goodbye… It’s devastating.”
Horan ended his message by sending love and condolences to Liam’s family and his son, Bear.
