Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco delighted fans with an unexpected appearance at a special IMAX screening of Spring Breakers in New York City. Not only did they surprise the audience with their presence, but they also treated them to an exclusive first listen of their new song, “Bluest Flame.”
As the couple entered the theater, the crowd erupted in excitement, with one fan exclaiming, “Oh my God, I need to call everyone!” Gomez, visibly thrilled, greeted the audience and playfully asked, “Did you all enjoy one of my favorite movies of all time?”
The event quickly turned into an informal fan meet-up, with Gomez taking photos and promising to send them to Spring Breakers director Harmony Korine, as well as her co-stars Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Benson, and Rachel Korine.
However, the biggest surprise of the night came when attendees got an exclusive first listen to “Bluest Flame,” from Gomez’s upcoming album, I Said I Love You First. To make the moment even more special, each guest received a USB containing the unreleased track. Blanco, joking about the bold move, quipped, “Our label is going to kill us, but you guys deserve this moment!”
Spring Breakers played a pivotal role in Gomez’s career, marking her transition from her Disney Channel image to more mature acting roles. Reflecting on that period, she told The New York Times, “It was the farthest I could go at the time. I knew people would judge me as a whole, but I was prepared for that.”
With her continued success in both music and acting, Selena Gomez once again proves she knows how to keep her audience captivated—always with an exciting surprise.
